* Support for ripping Audio CDs as well as transcoding all supported audio formats using the Converter component. * Easily customizable user interface layout. * Supported audio formats: MP3, MP4, AAC, CD Audio, WMA, Vorbis, FLAC, WavPack, WAV, AIFF, Musepack, Speex, AU, SND. Oh, and Im also searching for easy, intuitive text editor, like Notepad++.

If you know something that can do the job, let me know. The only thing Im searching for is the ability to sort media library by folder structure. You can then start it by opening the program folder and entering "wine foobar2000.exe." Ive been wondering, if there is a audio player for Linux similiar to Foobar.
FOOBAR ALTERNATIVE LINUX INSTALL
If you prefer to do it yourself then just get the installer file from and then open the directory where it is and right-click -> Window -> Terminal here and type "wine foobar2000_0.9.6.5.exe" to install (that's the installer file you downloaded). 97&t=37783 I have tested in Crossover and in the wine 1.1.18 installed in NewYearsPup. If you don't have wine installed you can get it here. If you have wine installed, you just click the pet and then open /root to click the desktop file to start it up. The pet contains foobar2000 with a menu entry and a desktop entry in /root that can be dragged onto the, uh, desktop. Why bother? Well, it is a simple and stable audio player that is being maintained and developed, that will play any audio formats that I have ever used, and also enables detailed editing of tags and replay gain. If you already have wine installed, then Foobar 2000 is only 7MB additional.
FOOBAR ALTERNATIVE LINUX WINDOWS
It uses the windows API rather than bitmapped graphics and custom code, so it transfers easily and cleanly to wine. Thank you all for any information you may have.Foobar 2000 is one of the most Linux-like of windows programs. I guess a good TL DR would be I would like to find a open source Linux music player that can sort my music by albums and display them in a tiled album cover view. I'm sorry for the long-winded post, but I hope that more details makes it easier to answer! This stuff isn't absolutely essential, but just nice to have. Other info on the side would be nice as well, in foobar I've set it up so that the currently playing album shows its album cover in a bigger window, and you can see the track list and currently playing track information. It sucks when I find a nice music player but then it just has a tiny thumbnail of the album cover for whatever song you are listening to. Album covers are important to me and I put a lot of effort into getting high resolution ones. EDIT: It seems dopamine is actually open source and being developed for Linux, but isn't in a usable state yet.Īlbum Cover view. Here is a photo of my current layout: is very similar to other music player programs like musicbee ( ) and Dopamine ( ), but sadly both of those programs are also only on windows and closed source. It doesn't need to be exact, if the elements are there I will be happy. So, what I have struggled to find is an actively developed, open source music player that can achieve a similar layout to my current Foobar layout.
FOOBAR ALTERNATIVE LINUX FREE
Hello, I currently use Foobar2000 as my music player, it works well and best of all it's setup in a way I like. However, even though I can achieve this same setup in Linux using wine, I don't have much desire to go through all that trouble for a program that isn't even open source, I care about free as in freedom, not just freeware.
